Refine is a small, growing church. Leadership here is collaborative, relational, and built around serving—not around one personality.
Luis and Sarah co-lead Refine Church together. Pastor Luis serves as Executive Pastor, and Pastor Sarah serves as Executive Administrative Pastor. Both serve bivocationally and receive no pastoral salary from Refine Church.
Their shared focus is simple: help people know Jesus, find family, grow in faith, and put that faith into action by serving their neighbors.
These leaders serve in different areas, but the work overlaps: worship, administration, education, relationships, outreach, and care for people.
Education & guidance.
Exartizo board leadership.
Founding pastor of the Cleveland congregation. A retired State of Ohio Tax Auditor, he now serves Refine as Pastor Emeritus, Education Pastor, and advisor, and serves as Board Chair of Project Exartizo.
Administration.
Organization & coordination.
Christian helps provide organizational structure and coordination behind the ministry. Nuestra Herencia notes his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and professional work in multicultural education.

Programs & connection.
Tamar works closely with Pastors Luis and Sarah to help turn vision into community outreach, programming, and practical opportunities to connect and serve.

Women’s & men’s ministries.
Wildalys leads Public Relations and co-leads the Women’s Community Ministry. Nelson co-leads the Men’s Community Ministry. Together they help build spaces for relationships, encouragement, service, and belonging.

Welcome & House is theology with coffee.
Lourdes leads the team that cares for the door, the sanctuary, and the table. From the first five minutes, a smile at the door puts our faith into practice and helps people feel they belong.
For weddings, quinceañeras, and baptisms, her team helps the day feel sacred and thoughtfully prepared. At funerals, Welcome & House supports the building and the table, while the Care team leads support for the family.
We believe leadership should make room for other people to grow. Refine is still developing its ministries and teams, and our leaders are committed to building with humility, accountability, and a willingness to serve wherever needed.
